Casino Hideout has discovered the following shocking announcement has been posted on both Red Lounge Casino and Cantor Casino websites which is addressed to their Customers: “Cantor Gaming Malta One Limited has taken the decision to cease providing services to retail customers. Effective from 1 pm on 28th November 2008, Red Lounge Casino and Cantor Casino will cease to accept new customers and will take no further wagers. From now on, Cantor’s gaming interests will focus on wholesale markets with the licensing of its proprietary technology, software, content, intellectual property and data to online casino operators and resort-based casino operators, the latter following extensive trials and the authorities’approval of its eDeck™ mobile gaming device in Nevada. As such, a decision has been taken to scale back the retail-oriented gaming businesses in the United Kingdom and focus on core wholesale market operations around the world. Any funds that you have on deposit with us remain totally secure and can be redeemed by customers at any time. In order to withdraw your funds, please contact our customer services by e-mail and funds will be returned in the course of normal business. We are sorry for any inconvenience that this will cause and would like to take this opportunity to thank you all for your past business and support over the years. If you have any queries about this announcement please contact customer services.” The background to this startling announcement is not known, however it was only on October 16th this year that a press release stated that a deal had been signed between Atronic and Cantor Gaming which gave the impression that the deal would be of great benefit to their handheld and online gaming formats, in particular cantorcasino.com to further enhance their ‘one-stop shop’ online gaming plans . A further press release on 24th November announced that the State of Nevada had finally given approval for mobile gaming system operations to commence. This approval was only given by the Gaming Control Board and Gaming Commission after extensive assessments were carried out regarding the integrity, technology and processes of eDeck and Cantor. It can only be assumed that these website closures have been brought about so that the parent company can continue with their focus on developing software by adding value via streamlining their operations. Cantor Index the financial spread betting division of Cantor G&W LP, Cantor Poker and Spreadfair betting exchange all appear to be unaffected by the change of direction. Watch this space for any further developments in this area.
