Mother of four daughters, Rachael Renee Romanick is thanking her lucky stars that a male friend convinced her to go out to a casino in Reno over the Easter weekend. The lucky 38 year old mum didn’t want to go but gave in to the pestering of her friend, and lucky for her she did otherwise she wouldn’t now be $33 million richer after playing the slot machines.

Rachael and her friend visited Terrible's Rail City Casino and played the slot machines, where Rachael hit the Megabucks jackpot after only ten minutes of play. Rachael was at first unaware of what she had won on the Megabucks slot, when she eventually realized that she had won she was so shocked by her good fortune that she had to ask someone if she had really won the huge amount of money.

The massive Megabucks jackpot win is great news for the Rail City Casino too as this is their first ever payout on the Megabucks slot machines. Barry Philips the Vice President and General Manager voiced his pleasure at finding a local slot machines player had won such a major jackpot prize.

The $33 million win is the second largest slot machines payout ever and is the biggest slot machines payout for the makers International Game Technology (IGT), Ed Rogich vice president of marketing said of the astounding win "We are very pleased to have a local winner for the second largest jackpot in IGT history," and "This is truly monumental and will be a life-altering prize for Rachael and her family."

IGT’s subsidiary WagerWorks supplies online slot machines games to some of the largest industry names including Gala Coral, 888.com, PartyGaming, St Minver network, MeccaGames.com and Cashcade.

The biggest slot machines win ever recorded was won in March 2003 in Las Vegas at the Excalibur Hotel and Casino, when a lucky winner scooped the world record breaking slot machines win of $39.7 million.
